Aussies Win Game 14 - V Oxfordshire

28 Jul 2017 by Andrew Tank Nielsen

Australia 4 for 192 off 32 overs (reduced by rain) defeated Oxfordshire 8 for 166 off their reduced 32 overs.

The Ground and Preliminaries…
Due to overnight and morning showers, the game start was delayed until 1.45PM. As the Australian team was on the move and we needed to get to our next hotel, which is 2 hours away, the match was shortened to 35 overs each, then due to a rain delay, reduced to 32 overs each. The match was played at Great & Little Tew Cricket Club, a delightful local village cricket club with beautiful modern club rooms overlooking well prepared grounds and pitch.

Match Report…
Our second last game with the final test against England on Friday then most are heading home on Saturday. We had two further injuries adding to a number of existing niggling injuries. Oxfordshire was primarily made up of locals but included England player Micky Stafford.

Australia…
During intermittent light showers, we lose some early wickets and a hamstring injury to John Dedman and then a hamstring injury to Kevin Lanigan.
